Greetings and salutations my friends! My name is Jeff Mostwill and I greatly appreciate you stopping by! What I’d like to do here is give you a bit of background on me and how we arrived at my vision of FV36. And I say “we” with great gratitude to all the exceptional professionals that I’ve interacted with over the years within the field of training and in reference to other significant individuals and experiences in my life, of who and which have positively influenced my career and life in ways textbooks will never cover. Thank you.
So..like many final products, my vision of FV36 has been an evolving process, refined & reforged by client relationships, furthering education, and most notably, life experiences. I’ve been a strength and conditioning coach/trainer since 2001. Having successfully finished undergrad with a 3.79 GPA in Biology, I had no real idea what i wanted to do, and frankly was too immature at the time for a would-be medical school path. I had been a top high school football player in the state and had professional opportunities with the several MLB teams. On the flip side, I’ve had to recover from multiple surgeries as result of injuries incurred in competition. Needless to say the values of physical preparation and the rigors of the rehabilitative process were not lost on me. To this day, I am so fortunate to be able to impart the knowledge and lessons gleaned from these experiences on to my clients. It is indeed a privilege we have as fitness professionals to make such a positive difference.
Over the years I’ve amassed certification after certification, and currently maintain status as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, widely considered the top certification in the industry. And as is my responsibility as a professional (& fortunately a passion) I continue to seek new information relevant to fitness, performance and wellness. But as I alluded to earlier, the most important thing I’ve learned is recognizing the opportunity we have as fitness professionals to impact other’s lives.
To hear the joy in a voice of someone who can fit back in to his or her clothes, or to see someones eyes light up after boasting about his or her new found distance on the golf course LITERALLY gives me goose bumps. No, REALLY - it does. And yes, FV36 can deliver these very things. Want to slash that body fat 5-10%-we can do that..want to regain that strength lost after surgery..we gotcha..wanna get another 7-8 MPH club head speed-lets get after it. But it’s my hope that we don’t just lose that 7% body fat for Memorial Day weekend, that we don’t find that new distance off the tee for just opening day season. Rather it is my hope that you are making an investment in yourself - that you understand why we’re doing what we’re doing, that you understand what can be done outside the gym to facilitate and galvanize your success. I know that a commitment to fitness has the power to change lives. Ultimately it is my vision that FV36 can be the vehicle to power such changes and effect a lifelong commitment to fitness, performance and wellness.
Lastly I’d like to welcome anyone here to continue to drop by here at ForceVelocity36. I will be offering regular blogs on all things fitness, human performance and wellness. Being a nerd at heart, I promise only to offer the most scientifically valid findings to date! And in the event that you are in need of a trainer and we are not able to connect, for whatever the reason, I would be so happy to locate someone that might connect with you. There are many of us out there that truly have your best interests at heart, and I’m blessed to know many of them. So I hope this gave you a bit more insight of where I’m coming from and I hope we can cross paths in the near future. To steal a line from a fellow fitness professional, have a healthy and happy day!
